Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Substitute/PRN Day Habilitation Assistant to join our team at Life Skills Training Center. The ideal candidate will be available for both on-call and prescheduled shifts on Monday through Friday from 7:30AM to 3:00PM to substitute for our full-time and part-time Day Habilitation staff in the event of an absence. Candidates should be comfortable fulfilling the duties of Day Habilitation staff, which include working closely with adults with intellectual disabilities, supporting them in achieving their daily goals while fostering independence, social interaction, and personal growth.
Responsibilities
- Goal Documentation: Accurately document clients' progress toward daily goals, ensuring all records are maintained according to program guidelines.
- Activity Implementation: Plan, supervise, and encourage client participation in a variety of social, leisure, and recreational activities designed to enhance their quality of life and skill development.
- Supportive Environment: Provide direct assistance, guidance, and supervision to clients while promoting a safe, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere.
- Mission-Driven Care: Uphold the organization's mission to provide person-centered support, care, and opportunities for growth.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or experience in a related field is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively with adults with intellectual disabilities in a respectful and empathetic manner.
- Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
