Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and responsible Part Time Driver with a Class E license to join our transportation team. Duties
- Safely operate various vehicles including vans, or specialized transport vehicles in accordance with all traffic laws and vehicle codes.
- Assist passengers with wheelchair boarding and disembarking, providing wheelchair assistance as needed.
- Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, including first aid and CPR when necessary.
- Maintain communication with and passengers using clear, professional language to ensure smooth operations.
- Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections to verify vehicle safety and readiness before each route.
- Respond quickly to traffic changes or road hazards to ensure timely arrivals and departures.
- Support passenger safety by enforcing behavior management policies and ensuring compliance with transit policies.
Experience
- Previous experience driving buses, vans, or other commercial vehicles is preferred.
- Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations is essential.
- Experience working with developmentally disabled adult populations enhances your ability to provide compassionate service.
- Certification in first aid, CPR, and emergency stop procedures is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to handle heavy lifting safely and perform vehicle maintenance checks confidently.
