Life Changing Support Services, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Human Resources to oversee and manage all aspects of the organization’s human resources operations. The Director of Human Resources will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resources Department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy. This leadership position plays a vital role in supporting staff, maintaining compliance, and promoting a positive and professional workplace culture within a residential services environment serving individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, interviews, and hires new staff.
  • Oversees the daily workflow and operations of the Human Resources Department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Handles employee discipline and termination in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand organizational goals and strategies related to staffing, recruitment, retention, and workforce planning.
  • Plans, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, procedures, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization’s human resource compliance and strategic needs.
  • Administers or oversees human resource programs including, but not limited to:
    • Compensation, benefits, and leave administration
    • Employee relations and disciplinary matters
    • Workplace disputes and investigations
    • Performance and talent management
    • Employee productivity, recognition, and morale
    • Occupational health and safety
    • Training and professional development
  • Identifies staffing and recruiting needs and develops effective hiring and talent management strategies.
  • Conducts research and analyzes organizational trends, including review of reports and metrics from HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Reviews and updates policies and procedures to maintain compliance and organizational effectiveness.
  • Maintains knowledge of current HR trends, regulatory updates, employment law, and emerging technologies.
  • Communicates policy, procedure, and regulatory changes to upper management and staff as appropriate.
  • Develops and manages the departmental budget.
  • Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of human resource management experience required.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification highly preferred.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
