Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients across various departments, including ICU, emergency room, medical-surgical units, and specialty areas such as pediatrics and geriatrics.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and evaluate physiological responses to treatment.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans aligned with best practices and regulatory standards.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) accurately while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital policies.
- Assist in discharge planning and coordinate post-acute or outpatient care to support seamless patient transitions.
- Participate in clinical case management activities, including diagnostic evaluations and utilization management strategies.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to health regulation policies and infection control protocols.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay current on medical terminology, hospital medicine practices, and emerging healthcare trends.
Qualifications
- Valid nursing license with current registration; additional certifications in critical care or trauma nursing preferred.
- Extensive ICU, emergency room, or Level I/II trauma center experience demonstrating advanced patient assessment skills.
- Proven ability to manage complex cases involving infectious diseases, behavioral health issues, or post-operative recovery.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, medical terminology, and hospital-based procedures.
- Experience working with electronic health records (EHR) systems such as EMR/EHR platforms; familiarity with HIPAA compliance is essential.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated competency in managing patients' needs across inpatient, outpatient, home health, or hospice settings is highly desirable.
