Behavior Technician/ Direct support staff

Duties

• Assist individuals with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication management, and household tasks.
• Implement behavioral therapy strategies and applied behavior analysis techniques to support positive behavior change.
• Conduct behavioral health assessments and participate in diagnostic evaluations to develop tailored support plans.
• Collect and document data related to behaviors, progress, and medical records accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Support individuals during intake processes and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient assessments.
• Provide patient care by monitoring health status, recognizing signs of distress or medical emergencies, and communicating effectively with healthcare providers.
• Foster a safe environment by adhering to medical terminology standards and maintaining detailed medical documentation.
• Collaborate with families, educators, and healthcare professionals to ensure consistent support aligned with individual goals.
• Participate in ongoing training related to special education, autism spectrum disorders, and behavioral health best practices.
• Maintain confidentiality of all medical records and sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.

Skills
