Job Summary
We are seeking energetic and compassionate Direct Support Staff/Behavior Technicians to join our team! In this vital role, you will provide personalized care and support to individuals with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, and other health conditions. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help foster independence, safety, and well-being for our clients in various settings such as homes, group homes, and community programs.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, behavior patterns, and overall condition; report findings accurately
- Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans established by healthcare professionals
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to promote healthy living
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance
- Maintain a clean environment by performing light housekeeping duties aligned with health and safety standards
- Document client progress, update care plans, and communicate effectively with team members to ensure consistent care delivery
Requirements
- Prior experience in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to monitor vital signs accurately
- Certification in CPR and First Aid; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or in memory care environments
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
