We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional to join our team! In this vital role, you will provide personalized care and support to individuals with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities, dementia, autism, and other health conditions. Your dedication will help promote independence, safety, and well-being while creating a positive environment for those we serve.
- Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes to healthcare teams
- Support medication administration in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with cooking tasks tailored to individual dietary needs
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing regular cleaning duties in residents’ living spaces and common areas
- Implement personalized care plans designed to meet each individual’s unique needs and goals
- Provide companionship, engage residents in social activities, and foster a supportive community atmosphere
- Experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs accurately
- Proficiency in first aid, CPR, and emergency response procedures
- Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, autism support, and hospice care practices
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts; physical stamina for long shifts is essential
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information
- Excellent communication skills for working effectively with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges
- Experience assisting with medication administration and managing care plans effectively
- Compassionate caregiving attitude with patience for working with seniors or individuals with complex health needs
