Summary:
Responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of the organization’s pre/post anesthesia, outpatient surgery, and hospital-based clinic services.
Operational Leadership: Oversees the operations for outpatient services including Preadmission Testing, Pre- and post-operative anesthesia services at the hospital and Tamarack 2000, Dermatology (W. Main St.), Pain Management, Rheumatology, and Wound Management.
Financial Management: Manages department expenses, labor, and capital budgets for respective departments.
Quality and Compliance: Develops and implements processes to monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory standards (ASPAN, AORN, SGNA, ASC, ASA), and internal hospital policies.
Strategic Planning: Leads development and implementation strategies to enhance services, expand patient care, and improve business viability for outpatient surgery and hospital-based clinics.
Staff management: Recommends staffing levels, provides leadership to multidisciplinary teams, and fosters a positive and productive work environment.
Mentoring and Empowering:
Cultivates leadership skills in direct reports (managers/supervisors). Provides opportunities for personal and professional growth for direct reports (managers/supervisors).
Quality Improvement: Oversees performance improvement programs to identify, address, and promote patient safety and reduce errors related to outpatient surgery, preadmission testing, inpatient wound care, and hospital-based clinics.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills along with a deep understanding of perioperative workflows and regulations.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse, BSN required.
- Master’s degree preferred
- A minimum of five years of recent leadership experience in an outpatient surgery or similar perioperative experience.
- LMH is accredited by DNV and TJC, and as such, may require specific annual education related to specialty certifications and standards.
