The incumbent of this position will work a flextime work schedule.
This is a non-supervisory, non-bargaining unit position.

Responsibilities:
Candidates should have experience with badging software; familiarity with Software House C•CURE 9000 Access Control & Badging is preferred.
Responsible for issuing, activating, and managing Library of Congress credentials and access request for employees, contractors, and visitors, as well as maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures. Access security systems to input and research information. Processes applications for and issuing identification badges and access requests, reviewing forms for completeness and discrepancies. Ensures accurate and timely badge issuance and updates. Maintains accurate records of badge holders and their access levels.
Provides assistance and support to employees, contractors, and visitors regarding badging and access control issues. Responds to inquiries and resolves problems in a timely and efficient manner. Responds to office key and badge lock-outs and ensures that all individuals have the proper credentials to enter the site, providing excellent customer service.
Processes security and access permission for new employees, contractors, and existing personnel requiring activation or deactivation of identification cards. Creates access control badges to include all programming as it relates to activation and deactivation. Process badges and maintains appropriate logs regarding the issuance, return and track all associated actions.
Coordinates administration activities in continuing the mission of the protective services programs. Accesses sensitive systems, files, and storage areas. Answers general telephone and visitor inquiries and provides general information regarding protective services requirements to managers, staff, and visitors. Refers more complex questions or situations to other specialists of supervisor as needed. Exercises extreme care in the handling of sensitive protective services records and information. Controls incoming and outgoing mail and material.
Evaluates and advises on procedures for providing office administrative support. Recommends changes in administrative practices and service as the source of information on administrative procedures. Provides the supervisor with the necessary information needed to make decisions on the administrative aspects of the organization operations and management. Monitors supply and inventory utilization and maintains inventory of office supplies and equipment. Prepares requisitions for supplies and equipment and requests for service.
