Job Description
Division manager leads a business unit with full P&L responsibility, overseeing daily operations, safety, financial performance, and staff management. You will drive strategic initiatives, ensure compliance, maintain municipal relationships, and manage a small team, focusing on high-performance results.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Oversight: Ensure safe, efficient daily operations for hauling, or transfer stations, optimizing routing and resource allocation.
- Financial Management: Develop and manage the business unit's budget, monitoring revenue and cost performance to meet profitability targets.
- Team Leadership: Lead managers across operations, sales, fleet, and finance, fostering a safe workplace culture and ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Customer & Community Relations: Maintain strong relationships with municipal/corporate clients and resolve service issues to uphold reliability.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all operations adhere to local, state, and federal regulations and meet or exceed company safety standards.
Key Qualifications
- Experience: Proven leadership experience, usually at an operations management level in waste management, logistics, or transportation.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage large, diverse teams and drive employee performance and development.
- Business Acumen: Experience with P&L, budget creation, and operational efficiency improvements.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for negotiating with city officials and managing customer accounts.

- The Division Manager reports to the Market GM or similar senior operations leader.
