With in-house engineering, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, testing, retrofit, and service capabilities, the company supports the full lifecycle of electrical infrastructure projects and long-term customer partnerships.

Position Summary

The Vice President of Field Service provides executive leadership and full operational ownership of the field service organization, with direct responsibility for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and emergency response of complex electrical power systems. This role requires hands-on technical fluency and leadership experience across switchgear, UPS systems, PDUs, transformers, ATS, generators, and associated power distribution equipment, ensuring safe, reliable, and uninterrupted operation of mission-critical electrical infrastructure.

This executive is accountable for scaling field operations, driving service excellence, improving customer satisfaction, and delivering profitable service growth while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and technical rigor.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Field Execution

  • Lead and scale a national field service organization supporting electrical power equipment installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and emergency troubleshooting.
  • Establish standardized field service procedures for switchgear, UPS, PDU, transformer, ATS, and generator systems, ensuring consistent execution across all regions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in service reliability, safety performance, and technical quality.

Technical & Operational Oversight

  • Maintain executive-level technical command of low- and medium-voltage electrical systems, including power distribution, protection schemes, control systems, and redundancy architectures.
  • Oversee field diagnostics, root-cause analysis, and resolution of complex electrical failures involving power continuity, load transfer, synchronization, and system protection.
  • Ensure all maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting activities comply with applicable electrical codes, standards, and safety requirements.

Client Engagement & Service Delivery

  • Act as the executive escalation point for critical power incidents, outages, and complex service challenges.
  • Partner with customers to develop long-term electrical power maintenance strategies, lifecycle service plans, and reliability programs.
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, and project teams to ensure seamless transition from equipment delivery to long-term service support.

Financial & Performance Management

  • Own field service P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning.
  • Establish and track KPIs including response time, first-time fix rate, service margin, utilization, safety metrics, and customer satisfaction.
  • Optimize staffing, tooling, training, and inventory strategies to support high-availability service delivery.

Team Development & Safety Culture

  • Recruit, mentor, and develop field service managers, engineers, and technicians with strong electrical power and troubleshooting expertise.
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and uncompromising safety.
  • Ensure continuous training on evolving power technologies, maintenance practices, and customer requirements.

Qualifications

Required

  • 10 years of progressive leadership experience in field service or technical operations supporting electrical power systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise with electrical switchgear, UPS systems, PDUs, transformers, automatic transfer switches (ATS), generators, and complete power distribution infrastructure.
  • Strong background in electrical power maintenance, commissioning, testing, diagnostics, and troubleshooting in mission-critical environments.
  • Proven success leading geographically distributed service teams and complex field operations.
  • Financial acumen with P&L ownership and operational budgeting responsibility.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage executive customers and technical teams alike.

Preferred

  • Electrical Engineering or related technical degree.
  • Experience supporting data centers, utilities, industrial facilities, or other mission-critical power environments.
  • Familiarity with protective relaying, power monitoring, redundancy architectures, and service management systems.
  • Track record of scaling and professionalizing a field service organization.

What This Role Offers

  • Executive ownership of a mission-critical electrical field service organization.
  • Direct impact on system reliability, customer uptime, and long-term service revenue.
  • High-visibility leadership role shaping service strategy, operational excellence, and customer trust.
