Roadway Engineer – Transportation

An established engineering firm is seeking a Roadway Engineer to join its Transportation team. This role will support the design and delivery of a wide range of transportation infrastructure projects, including highways, interchanges, bridges (new design and rehabilitation), rural and urban roadways, intersections, roundabouts, and pavement management programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and production of DOT, turnpike, municipal, and county transportation projects
• Support the Project Manager with roadway design, bridge design, drainage, and traffic control plans
• Prepare construction documents and technical reports
• Participate in project proposals, interviews, and client presentations
• Attend client meetings and coordinate with stakeholders
• Provide leadership and technical guidance to production staff
• Manage multiple project assignments while meeting deadlines
  
  

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering
• 1–5 years of experience on DOT, municipal, or county transportation projects
• Experience in roadway and/or bridge design
• Proficiency in Civil 3D and/or MicroStation products (OpenRoads, InRoads, or GEOPAK preferred)
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• PE license / EIT preferred or ability to obtain in a timely manner
• Familiarity with local and state transportation standards preferred
• Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
• Ability to work effectively under deadlines and manage multiple priorities
