Thermal Systems & Process EngineeringPermanent role for a mechanical engineer designing and validating engineered-to-order industrial process equipment. The position centers on development of cooling processes and thermal management solutions integrated into complex, mission-critical systems used in large-scale energy and industrial operations.Work spans conceptual thermal modeling, applied fluid dynamics, and mechanical evaluation through fabrication support and performance validation. You will own thermal and flow behavior of custom hardware operating under tight heat-rejection, pressure, vibration, and acoustic constraints.RequirementsU.S. Citizen or Permanent ResidentMinimum 5 years in thermal or mechanical design within power generation, energy systems, or advanced process-equipment manufacturingBS or MS in Mechanical EngineeringDirect experience with heat exchangers, de-aeration equipment, rotating machinery, vacuum systems, ejectors, and precision control valvesStrong foundation in heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and system hydraulicsExperience developing cooling processes and heat-rejection strategies using applied fluid dynamicsWorking knowledge of CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) as a tool for fluid-flow and heat-transfer analysisExperience with ANSYS, Fluent, CFX, COMSOL, or equivalent CFD/FEA platformsProficiency with MATLAB, Excel-based solvers, or internal engineering tools for thermal and hydraulic modelingWorking knowledge of ASME codes and equipment specification standardsResponsibilitiesLead thermal, fluid-dynamic, and mechanical design validation for large, integrated process systemsDevelop cooling concepts and thermal architectures using analytical methods and CFD-based fluid dynamics modelingPerform thermal and hydraulic calculations for equipment sizing, pressure drop, heat transfer, and drainage pathsUse CFD to evaluate flow distribution, heat-transfer performance, and thermal margins under operating conditionsGenerate and review performance curves, thermal models, acoustic data, and control documentationBuild and maintain engineering calculation tools and selection programs supporting thermal and fluid-dynamics analysisReview fabrication drawings, materials, and assembly methods for thermal and mechanical integritySupport testing and validation efforts, correlating CFD and analytical models to measured performanceCompany DescriptionLibertyjobs.com has become an essential destination site for experienced job seekers.
