Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and competitive bid proposals for commercial and industrial electrical construction projects.
- Perform complete quantity takeoffs from electrical plans, specifications, and construction documents.
- Review electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, panel schedules, lighting layouts, power distribution, and equipment specifications.
- Solicit, review, and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.
- Develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontract pricing.
- Utilize estimating software including Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, OST (On-Screen Takeoff), Bluebeam, or similar estimating platforms.
- Participate in scope reviews, bid leveling, value engineering, and constructability reviews.
- Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Purchasing, and Field Operations.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs as needed.
- Maintain historical cost databases and estimating documentation.
- Assist with budgeting, conceptual estimating, design-build proposals, negotiated work, and change order pricing.
- 1–5 years of experience in electrical estimating, preconstruction, project engineering, or commercial electrical construction.
- Experience working for an electrical contractor is highly preferred.
- Electricians interested in transitioning into estimating are encouraged to apply.
- Ability to interpret electrical blueprints, specifications, one-line diagrams, and construction documents.
- Knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical systems.
- Familiarity with NEC requirements and accepted construction practices.
- Experience with Accubid preferred, ConEst, McCormick, OST / On-Screen Takeoff considered

- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
