Controls Engineer

The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams—including electrical, mechanical, and software engineers—to develop control architectures, configure PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), implement HMI/SCADA systems, and optimize automation processes. They are responsible for system design, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop control systems for automated equipment and processes
- Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems
- Create electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and system documentation
- Integrate sensors, actuators, drives, and instrumentation
- Perform system testing, validation, and commissioning
- Troubleshoot and resolve system performance issues
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
- Support upgrades, retrofits, and process optimization projects
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field
- Experience with PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profibus)
- Understanding of control theory, PID tuning, and system integration
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
