Controls and Robotics Engineer
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Controls and Robotics Engineer with 3 years of experience designing, programming, commissioning, and optimizing high-speed automated manufacturing systems. This role requires deep hands-on expertise in industrial controls, robotics, and motion systems, with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate has a proven ability to deliver robust, safety-compliant automation solutions that maximize uptime and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
Key Responsibilities
- Program, commission, and support PLC-, HMI-, and SCADA-based automation systems for high-speed manufacturing environments
- Integrate and optimize FANUC SCARA and 6-axis robotic systems, including coordination with PLC and motion platforms
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot industrial control architectures, safety systems, and industrial networks
- Develop and maintain motion control systems, servo drives, and VFD-based solutions
- Support system optimization initiatives focused on uptime, performance, and manufacturing efficiency
- Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, mechanical, and quality teams to deliver end-to-end automation solutions
- Provide technical documentation, system standards, and ongoing production support
- PLCs & Controls: Allen-Bradley and Beckhoff PLCs; HMI and SCADA development
- Industrial Networking: EtherNet/IP, Beckhoff ADS
- Robotics: FANUC SCARA and 6-axis robots; Epson SCARA systems
- Motion & Drives: Kinetix servo systems, PowerFlex VFDs, DC drives, multi-axis motion control
- Programming: C, Visual Basic, SQL, Python
- Automation Hardware: Vision systems, sensors, pneumatics, IO-Link, machine safety circuits
- Data Acquisition: DAQ systems and sensor integration
- Design Tools: AutoCAD, CAD/CAM
- Manufacturing & Fabrication: CNC milling, laser cutting, 3D printing
- Electronics & Prototyping: Wiring and harnessing, soldering, electronics assembly, Arduino, ESP32
- Travel as needed.
