Civil Engineer – Land Development
A well-established engineering consulting firm is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join its growing land development team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment on diverse site development projects throughout the region.
Responsibilities
- Prepare site civil engineering construction documents under the supervision of the Project Manager
- Develop roadway, utility, and site design plans
- Assist with zoning, preliminary, and conceptual land development plans
- Perform grading and drainage design to support cost-effective and safe site development
- Prepare erosion and sediment control plans, including calculations and BMP design
- Support construction cost estimating through quantity calculations
- Research and apply applicable local, state, and federal design standards and codes
- Coordinate with approving agencies during permitting and plan processing
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required
- 5 years of experience in civil/site land development engineering
- Experience working on projects in Maryland, including Prince George’s County and/or Montgomery County
- Proficiency with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
