An established and growing civil litigation practice is seeking a Civil Defense Litigation Attorney to join its General Liability team in Atlanta, Georgia. Qualifications
- Active Georgia Bar license in good standing
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
- 2–5 years of civil litigation experience; defense experience is preferred but not required
- Experience or interest in general liability, premises liability, bodily injury, products liability, or construction-related litigation
- Ability to manage multiple litigation matters simultaneously
- Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses
- Deposition experience (taking and defending) is preferred
- Court appearances, mediation, or trial experience are a plus but not required
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management technology
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating with a team
- Manage a civil defense caseload with guidance from senior attorneys
- Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents
- Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and client meetings
- Assist with trial preparation and case strategy
- Maintain regular communication with clients and opposing counsel
- Accurately record billable time and meet established billing expectations
- Deliver high-quality legal services while meeting deadlines and client objectives
