Information Security Engineer - Contract to Hire

4 Days onsite - No Sponsorship - No Third Parties - Must be local

Our client in Wilmington, DE is seeking an Information Security Software Engineer to design, implement, and maintain information security systems, programs, and security-as-code. This role will work closely with architects, developers, and business units to protect sensitive data and minimize cyber risks.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure API integrations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and ensure seamless integration.
• Maintain and enhance existing APIs for performance and functionality.
• Build workflows and pipelines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve API-related issues.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in API development.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, IS, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5 years of coding experience in Python and Java.
• Proven API development experience (Python, Java, Power Query, PowerShell).
• Strong understanding of API design principles.
• Experience with testing and documentation tools (Postman, Swagger).
• Familiarity with authentication/authorization (OAuth, JWT).
• Ability to develop and implement custom solutions.
• US Citizen or Green Card Holder
• Ability to be onsite 4 days a week
