Position Summary
The Material Handler is responsible for safely moving, storing, and organizing materials throughout the facility. This role supports production by ensuring materials are delivered to the correct locations on time, maintaining accurate inventory movement, and operating forklifts and other material‑handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities
Material Handling & Movement
- Load, unload, and transport materials, parts, and finished goods using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Deliver materials to production lines and designated storage areas according to daily schedules.
- Stage raw materials and remove completed products to support continuous workflow.
- Safely handle materials of varying sizes, weights, and configurations.
Forklift Operation
- Operate forklifts (sit‑down, stand‑up, or reach trucks depending on facility) in compliance with safety standards.
- Perform daily forklift inspections and report any mechanical issues.
- Maneuver equipment in tight or congested areas while maintaining full control and awareness.
- Follow all facility traffic rules, speed limits, and load‑handling procedures.
Inventory & Documentation
- Record material movements accurately in logs, scanners, or ERP systems.
- Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and stock rotation.
- Ensure materials are labeled, stored, and organized properly.
- Report inventory discrepancies or damaged materials promptly.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and equipment guidelines.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, including aisles, racks, and staging zones.
- Report unsafe conditions, near‑misses, or incidents immediately.
- Support company safety initiatives and participate in training sessions.
General Support
- Assist production, warehouse, and shipping/receiving teams as needed.
- Help load and secure outbound shipments.
- Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance material flow and reduce waste.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
- Experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, climbing, and standing for long periods.
- Basic computer or scanner skills for inventory tracking.
Preferred
- Experience with ERP or warehouse management systems.
- Knowledge of material‑handling best practices and warehouse organization.
- Experience in manufacturing, logistics, or industrial operations.

- May require overtime, weekend work, or shift flexibility based on production needs.
Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
