Position Summary
The Manufacturing Production Operator is responsible for operating production equipment, inspecting parts, and supporting material flow to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality manufacturing operations. This role plays a key part in meeting daily production targets while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Machine Operation
- Operate manufacturing equipment according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Set up, start, stop, and monitor machines to ensure proper operation and product output.
- Perform basic machine adjustments and troubleshoot minor issues to maintain productivity.
- Follow production schedules and meet daily output requirements.
Quality & Inspection
- Inspect parts and materials using gauges, calipers, micrometers, and visual standards.
- Document inspection results and identify non‑conforming products.
- Maintain quality throughout the production process by following established specifications.
- Report defects, deviations, or equipment concerns to supervisors promptly.
Material Handling & Workflow Support
- Load materials into machines and move finished goods to designated areas.
- Use forklifts, pallet jacks, or hoists (if applicable) to transport materials safely.
- Maintain accurate counts of materials and completed parts.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions or incidents.
Documentation & Communication
- Complete production logs, inspection forms, and equipment checklists.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and maintenance personnel.
- Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience in manufacturing, production, or machine operation.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, safety guidelines, and basic blueprints.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Preferred
- Experience with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Forklift certification or material‑handling experience.
- Mechanical aptitude or experience with machine troubleshooting.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing or 5S environments.
