Job Summary
The Liberty County Board of Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for the full-time position of Administrative Assistant in its main office. This position provides clerical, customer service, and public relations support for the Administration Department operations.Major Job Duties
- Answers telephone and greets visitors; provides information and assistance.
- Processes property and casualty insurance claims.
- Maintains the county vehicle, buildings, and equipment database.
- Maintains insurance coverage for county vehicles; purchases new vehicle tags; processes yearly undercover tags.
- Processes open records requests.
- Develops and produces marketing and news material related to biweekly newsletters and social media posts for release to the various media platforms.
- Monitors department website for needed changes and modifications.
- Assists with preparation of Commissioners packets and meeting materials.
- Processes incoming and outgoing mail for administration department.
- Maintains office supply inventory; reorders as needed.
- Processes vouchers for vehicle repairs and insurance matters.
- Processes GDOR highway impact fees.
- Files yearly reports.
- Versant in the duties and functions of the Executive Assistant.
- Performs related duties.
Required Knowledge
- Modern office practices and procedures.
- Computers and job-related software programs.
- Departmental policies; procedures and functions.
- Public relations methods and techniques.
Required Skills
- Providing excellent customer service.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook; Word; Excel) and digital media design.
- Strong public and interpersonal relations skills.
- Communicating well orally and in writing.
- Ability to prioritize and plan effectively.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates degree in a course of study related to the occupational field preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of related experience required.
- Social media management experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements
Work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table in an office environment.
Salary & Benefits
This is a full-time position at a minimum annual compensation of $40,144 ($19.30 hourly). Work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, in the Liberty County Courthouse Annex in downtown Hinesville, Georgia.Liberty County government offers competitive salaries and a generous benefits package to full-time permanent employees which includes:
