What are the responsibilities and job description for the ELEMENTARY PART-TIME TEACHER'S AIDE (PLATO CAMPUS) position at Liberty Common School?
Liberty Common School (Plato Campus) is seeking a part-time teacher's aide beginning August of 2026 at the Plato campus. Liberty Common School is a Poudre School District charter school dedicated to Core Knowledge principles and character education. The school currently enrolls over 590 students grades k-6.
Liberty Common School provides excellence and fairness in education by teaching a contextual body of organized knowledge, the skills of learning, and the values of a democratic society. This is done through parental choice, partnership with teachers, and student acceptance of responsibility for his/her academic effort.
The Teachers’ Aide plays an important role at Liberty Common, supporting and supplementing delivery of the educational program in individual classrooms. The Aide works closely with the teachers to effectively integrate subjects and methods with the teachers' overall instructional plans. The Aide may supplement the educational program by delivering specialized skills and knowledge to the students.
FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Hourly Non-Exempt
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Regular, Part-time
WORK HOURS: 15-20 hours per week
PAY RANGE: $16.50-$18.00/hour
REPORTS TO: Assistant Principal
REVISION DATE: January 2026
Minimum Essential Duties:
- Research and gather resources and materials needed for lesson units
- Set up classroom materials and equipment
- Coordinate classroom volunteer activities
- Assist in monitoring and supporting students during lunches and recesses
- Enforce administration policies and rules governing students
- Conduct testing and evaluate student work as directed by teachers
- Conduct student interventions
- Monitor, assess, and report on students’ progress
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with teachers, other faculty, students, and parents
- Tutor and assist children individually or in small groups to help them master assignments and to reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers.
- Assist in maintaining inventories of materials, equipment, or products
- Adapt communication and teaching styles when necessary to support individual students and their families
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to maneuver uneven surfaces
- Must be able to carry or transfer up to 20lbs of supplies frequently
- Must be able to work in occasionally loud environments
- Must be able to frequently use office technology including computers, copiers, and printers
- Must be able to use commercial office tools including paper cutters and staplers
Minimum Requirements:
- Desire and willingness to learn about Liberty’s history and philosophy and to uphold and promote the mission and values of the school.
- Demonstrated competence in a relevant discipline.
- Ability to support effective instructional delivery.
- Ability and willingness to work effectively with peers & other staff as a team to improve students' education.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, internet utilization, and general aptitude for learning new software applications
Preferred Characteristics:
- Experience with the Core Knowledge Curriculum and demonstrated ability to support effective instructional delivery in this curriculum.
