Duties
- Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and traditional tow trucks, to recover and transport vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload vehicles with precision, ensuring proper securing methods to prevent damage during transit.
- Conduct basic automotive diagnostics and repairs when necessary to prepare vehicles for transport or roadside assistance.
- Assist with vehicle recovery in various conditions, including accident scenes or difficult terrains, using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or other lifting devices.
- Communicate effectively with customers, providing clear updates on service status and estimated arrival times while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Manage conflict situations calmly and professionally, resolving customer concerns with tact and diplomacy.
- Maintain detailed records of all recoveries, loads, unloads, and vehicle condition reports for operational accuracy.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and traffic regulations during all operations to ensure personal safety and that of others on the road.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive repair and diagnostics.
- Proficiency in operating tow trucks, flatbeds, forklifts, and other heavy-duty equipment.
- Solid understanding of manual transmissions and vehicle mechanics.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record; experience in commercial driving preferred.
- Ability to perform automotive diagnostics to identify issues quickly during roadside assistance or recovery operations.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally under pressure.
- Skilled in load & unload procedures ensuring secure transportation of vehicles.
