What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sub Custodian position at Liberal USD 480?
SUBSTITUTE POSITIONS ARE ON CALL AS NEEDED AND MAY NOT WORK EVERY DAY.
REPORTS TO: School's Head Custodian or Custodial Supervisor
POSITION PURPOSE: To provide the upkeep, maintenance, cleanliness, safety and security of the assigned building so a safe, clean environment will be available for teaching and learning while the permanent custodian is absent.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
• Ability to follow instructions
• Understanding of custodial duties
• Knowledge of occupational hazard, safety
precautions, hazardous materials and proper way
to perform the assigned duty
• Ability to perform work independently according
to prescribed standard and procedures
• Ability to work in varied weather and temperature
conditions
• Possess good communication skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The incumbent may be required to use the below requirement during any part of the work day.
Speaking, hearing, visual, bending/stooping, walking, reaching, pushing/pulling, climbing, kneeling, lifting 50 pounds, standing.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Respond to requests for services in a timely and courteous manner
• Accomplish tasks in a safe and efficient manner, such as sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, waxing, polishing, emptying waste
receptacles, cleaning restrooms and water fountains, washing windows and walls and replacing light bulbs and filters.
• Respond to staff and/or administration in a courteous and helpful manner
• Assist in snow removal or other related duties as assigned
• Accomplish assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner
• Consult a supervisor if there are job problems
• Demonstrate a professional image through appearance, language, and work ethic
• Complete a variety of work assignment as assigned
