Full Time Position with USD 480 - Seymour Rogers Middle School
REPORTS TO: Building Administration
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Record Keeping: Collect, record, and maintain accurate attendance data for all students in the school's database.
- Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for parents and guardians regarding absences and tardiness, making phone calls and responding to inquiries. They also communicate with teachers and administrators about attendance issues.
- Policy Compliance: Ensure adherence to school and district attendance policies and regulations.
- Reporting: Generate daily, weekly, and monthly attendance reports for administrators and other relevant personnel.
- Absenteeism Monitoring: Monitor for excessive absenteeism or truancy and report these cases to the Dean of Students or other administrators.
- Data Management: Update attendance databases, issue notices for absences, and provide attendance data to the district and other appropriate agencies.
- Support Staff: Provide general secretarial and clerical support to the attendance office and other administrative staff as needed.
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Bilingual is preferred but not required.
- Organizational Skills: Requires a high level of organization to manage detailed records and tasks.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with parents, students, and staff.
- Attention to Detail: Crucial for maintaining accurate and timely attendance data.
- Confidentiality: The ability to handle and protect sensitive student information with discretion.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with attendance tracking systems, databases, and other office software.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS:
Requirements may include prolonged sitting or standing, physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials, climbing stairs, stooping, bending and reaching; also includes travel.

Will be evaluated by building administration in accordance with the Board of Education’s policy.
