What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Childhood Education Driver position at Liberal R 2 School District?
The Liberal R-II School District is seeking a passionate, collaborative, and dedicated Early Childhood Education Driver to join our team for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate will have an excellent driving record, great communication skills, ability to create positive relationships, and a commitment to student success. Various certifications will be considered.
Hourly Rate- $16.75 per hour
Daily Hours- 7:15 AM- 12:15 PM on school days following Greenfield School District Calendar
Qualifications:
High School Diploma
Valid Missouri Driver’s License, pass a background check
Certificate of physical examination signed by licensed physician
At least 21 years old
Essential Functions:
Safety checks will be made daily and appropriate documentation made. This includes pre-trip inspections.
Maintain fuel levels in their bus, sufficient for planned trips and routes.
All questions concerning transportation shall be directed to the director of transportation.
Drivers are to report to the director of transportation.
The driver will notify the transportation director if they are not able to complete a route.
Maintenance requests are to be in written form and turned in to the transportation director.
Requests for oil changes and maintenance must be turned in every 3,000 miles.
Drivers must be at school ten minutes before buses are scheduled to leave school grounds.
Drivers will never drive over the posted limit. The rate of speed on gravel roads will be determined by road and weather conditions.
Bus drivers have the authority to make decisions about safety on the bus routes, as long as they are within the guidelines of board policy.
Drivers will submit to an annual physical provided by the school.
Drivers will submit to random drug and alcohol testing provided by the school.
Drivers will attend training in excess of the minimum 8 hours required by Dept of Revenue, provided by the school district annually.
Drivers will obey all regulations provided in the transportation manual.
Perform all the duties necessary to the position as may be assigned by the board of education and superintendent.
