Position Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and innovative Media and communications Teacher to lead instruction in a variety of engaging, project-based courses, including Newspaper, A/V Production, Photo Imaging, and Journalism. This educator will be responsible for developing and delivering dynamic, standards-aligned lessons that inspire student creativity, foster collaboration, and cultivate critical thinking.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and implement engaging instructional units in media and communications courses.

Teach and support students in developing skills in media literacy, digital storytelling, photography, video production, and broadcast journalism.

Guide students in the production of school publications and multimedia projects.

Create a classroom environment that encourages student voice, collaboration, and innovation.

Utilize technology and industry-standard tools to enhance learning and project development.

Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments.

Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum and support interdisciplinary learning.

Stay current with trends in media and communications to bring real-world relevance into the classroom.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Valid teaching certification or licensure as required by the state.

Experience or demonstrated ability to teach in one or more of the following areas: journalism, photography, audio/video production, digital media.

Proficiency with relevant technology and editing software

Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills.
Salary : $50,016 - $83,519
