What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accompanist- LHS position at Liberal High School?
LHS is currently accepting applications for the position of piano accompanist.
GENERAL DEFINITION: Provide musical accompaniment for classes and performances, as well as act as a support to the music programs, and students.
UNDER SUPERVISION OF:
Principal/Designee
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists instructional personnel by playing accompaniment for pupils in vocal classes, small vocal group sectionals, in preparation for solo performances, rehearsals and all performances.
- Work with soloists, both vocal and instrumental, to prepare for festival performances.
- May assist in making arrangements for musical activities and presentations/performances.
- Able to record rehearsal tracks; all vocal parts and accompaniment.
- Must be able to meet and interact with employees and parents/guardians in routine situations, which require tact, discretion, and courtesy.
- Communicate with both middle school choir directors to create a shared schedule.
- Other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent; must be skilled and technically proficient on the piano; strong sight reading skills; experience working with students in large and small group situations is preferred.
