The Field Superintendent (FS) plays a critical role in driving safety, quality, and efficiency in LI Group’s field operations. The FS is a key member of the field leadership team, responsible for overseeing project execution, managing subcontractors, and ensuring crews on site operate at peak performance. The FS directly supervises crew leaders onsite or remotely while maintaining strong collaboration with both Project Managers and clients to ensure seamless project execution.


This role requires a hands-on leader who can troubleshoot in real-time, maintain high standards, and ensure all crews work productively and consistently with established processes. The FS will be expected to travel extensively to oversee retail construction projects across multiple locations and will also be the overnight contact when projects require such support.


Project Execution & On-Site Leadership

  • Independently manage small to medium retail construction projects, ensuring work is completed on time, within scope, and at a high level of quality.
  • Oversee all on-site field operations, ensuring crews follow established processes, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Develop and implement job site plans, ensuring every crew is aligned with project goals and expectations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Project Managers (PMs), ensuring smooth communication and problem resolution.
  • Proactively identify and address field issues, escalating them when necessary to keep projects moving efficiently.
  • Conduct client walks, punch list reviews, and final inspections to guarantee quality completion.
  • Resolve on-site challenges efficiently, including scheduling conflicts, material shortages, and unforeseen construction issues.
  • Perform client takeoffs
  • Assist with small carpentry tasks and equipment installations as needed to support project timelines and ensure quality standards are met.


Crew & Subcontractor Management

  • Train, vet, and evaluate new subcontractors on job sites to ensure they meet company standards.
  • Provide overnight support remotely (phone, text, email) to crews throughout installation, collect deliverables, track site progress, problem solve, and serve as the escalation point
  • Provide leadership and hands-on supervision to field crews, ensuring proper execution of tasks.
  • Assign tasks and optimize work distribution to maximize efficiency.
  • Ensure all crew members are properly trained on job-specific requirements, including SOPs, install guides, exit documentation, safety procedures, and technology.
  • Provide feedback and coaching to crews to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Emphasizing the ability to quickly assess and resolve issues and handle disputes professionally.


Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce all company and OSHA safety procedures—safety is our #1 priority.
  • Conduct on-site safety meetings and ensure full compliance with all safety protocols.
  • Monitor job site conditions, proactively addressing safety concerns and potential hazards.
  • Drive continuous improvements in safety, quality, and efficiency using Lean principles.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and collaborate with leadership for implementation.
  • Assist in developing and refining field job plans for both existing and new projects.
  • Partner with Project Managers (PMs) to develop estimates, execution plans, and scheduling strategies.


Communication & Reporting

  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, store personnel, and internal team members to ensure smooth project experience.
  • Collect, organize, and submit documentation from crews to Assistant Project Managers or Coordinators.
  • Provide timely updates, issue escalation, and status reports to the project team.
  • Ensure that all required project documents, reports, and closeout materials are completed and submitted accurately.
  • Leverage construction technology tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Teams to track project progress, document site conditions, and ensure seamless communication between field and office teams.
  • Support other departments when needed
  • Other duties as assigned


Travel & Logistics

  • Arrange travel plans, ensuring efficient scheduling and cost management.
  • Be prepared for last-minute travel and flexible scheduling based on project needs.


Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience in retail construction
  • 3 years of direct management or project management experience with completed project profiles
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, industry standards, and best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to professionally communicate with high-profile clients
  • Experience doing client takeoffs
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to drive improvements and ensure compliance
  • Strong problem-solving and prioritization skills to keep projects on track
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, and project documentation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams)
  • Exceptional organizational, meeting management, and presentation skills
  • Ability to plan, order, and complete projects based on detailed scopes of work
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Some carpentry skills with the ability to assist in installations when needed
  • This position will require significant overnight work either remotely or onsite. Frequency is dependent on the projects.
  • Nationwide travel is required and ability to travel on short notice. Travel varies by month, any month could be between 25-75%.


Full Time Benefits:

  • Pay: $90,000 - $100,000
