Staff Accountant

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join the finance team. You’ll play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting compliance, and driving operational efficiency within a dynamic retail environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and account reconciliations.
• Reconciling retail store inventories across our stores.
• Perform month-end close activities including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and reports related to retail inventories.
• Perform account analysis on general ledger detail and prepare journal entries based on this analysis
• Process certain manual inventory transfer transactions in the inventory system
• Support financial reporting and ensure compliance with GAAP standards.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and variances.
• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounting processes.
• Assist with audits and ensure adherence to internal controls.

Qualifications:

• BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
• Solid understanding of financial concepts, budgeting, and forecasting
• Solid understanding of GAAP principles, nonprofit financial management, government contracts, and cost accounting
• Strong proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (MS Office), G-Suite, SAP or similar accounting enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
• Experience working in retail is a plus
• At least 3 years in a similar role
