Senior Director of Tax
Location: Alameda, CA (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite)
Employment Type: Direct Hire
We’re partnering with a private equity–backed, multi-entity organization to hire a Senior Director of Tax. This role reports to the CFO and leads all income, partnership, and indirect tax functions, while managing and mentoring a small tax team.
This is a high-impact leadership role for a hands-on tax professional with deep technical expertise and strong business partnership skills.
What You’ll Do
- Lead federal, state, and partnership income tax compliance (K-1s, K-3s, estimates, extensions, distributions)
- Prepare and model LLC/partnership waterfall allocations
- Oversee sales & use tax compliance, audits, and filings
- Manage unclaimed property (escheatment) analysis and reporting
- Partner cross-functionally with Accounting, Treasury, Finance, and Legal
- Support tax documentation for bank audits
- Own the tax department budget and external advisor relationships
- Mentor and develop two direct reports
- Establish scalable tax processes and ensure audit-ready documentation
What We’re Looking For
- CPA required (Master’s in Tax preferred)
- Public accounting corporate tax experience strongly preferred
- Big 4 or national firm foundation a plus
- Required experience with private equity–owned companies or PE tax clients
- Required strong partnership, income, and indirect tax expertise
- Proven people leadership with a hands-on approach
- Excellent communication skills and professional presence
- Demonstrated career stability
Work Schedule
- Hybrid role with minimum onsite 2-3 days per week
- Additional onsite days as business needs require

- Base Salary Bonus
