What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at LHH?
LHH is partnering with a rapidly growing, mission‑driven non‑profit in San Francisco that is making a meaningful impact in the community. This organization is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant who is excited to roll up their sleeves, take ownership of the accounting function, and support a purpose‑led organization during an exciting phase of growth.
This is a great opportunity for a detail‑oriented, self‑motivated accounting professional who enjoys both hands‑on work and contributing to a mission that matters.
What You’ll Do:
- Own day‑to‑day accounting operations including AP, AR, and General Ledger
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and expense reports
- Prepare monthly financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Support annual audit and tax return preparation
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
- Partner with leadership on ad hoc accounting and finance initiatives
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems
- Experience working in a larger ERP environment
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
