Patient Service Representative
Location: Bala Cynwyd / King of Prussia Area, PA
Schedule: Full-Time, 40 Hours per Week
Compensation: Contract Assignment
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Remote with Required Onsite Training and Equipment Pickup)
LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a reputable healthcare organization to identify a Patient Service Representative for a contract assignment supporting a busy patient access and scheduling team. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with prior medical administrative experience who enjoy providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Position Overview
The Patient Service Representative serves as a key point of contact for patients, providers, and clinical staff. This individual will be responsible for coordinating appointments, managing patient communications, maintaining accurate scheduling records, and ensuring a positive patient experience throughout the care process.
The role is primarily remote following initial onsite onboarding and equipment pickup. Candidates must be flexible with scheduling and comfortable working various shifts as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments across multiple departments and providers
- Answer incoming calls and assist patients with scheduling inquiries, appointment requests, and general information
- Accurately enter and maintain patient information within electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Verify demographic and insurance information while ensuring data accuracy
- Coordinate appointments and communicate scheduling updates to patients and clinical teams
- Provide professional and empathetic customer service to patients and caregivers
- Document patient interactions and maintain detailed records in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Support patient registration and intake processes as needed
- Assist with referral management, appointment coordination, and follow-up communications
- Handle a high volume of inbound and outbound calls while maintaining service-level expectations
- Collaborate with providers, nurses, and administrative staff to resolve scheduling and patient access issues
- Follow all HIPAA and confidentiality guidelines
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a Patient Service Representative, Medical Receptionist, Scheduler, Patient Access, Medical Administrative, or similar healthcare support role
- Previous experience in a physician office, clinic, hospital, healthcare call center, or medical setting required
- Prior appointment scheduling experience required
- Experience working with Epic EMR strongly preferred
- Strong data entry and computer skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
Schedule Requirements
- Monday through Friday schedule
- One weekend rotation approximately every four weeks
- Candidates must be flexible to work any of the following shifts:
- 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM
- Occasional schedule adjustments may be required based on business needs
Work Arrangement
- Primarily remote after onboarding
- Initial orientation and training conducted onsite
- Candidates must attend onsite training during the first two days and complete equipment pickup
- Reliable internet connection and dedicated workspace required for remote work
