What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patent Prosecution Attorney position at LHH?
Our client is hiring a Patent Prosecution Attorney in their Pasadena or Long Beach office. In this role, you will work on cutting-edge patent work involving therapeutics, diagnostics, and biotechnology platforms at a premier IP law firm recognized by Chambers USA.

Responsibilities:
- Draft, file, and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications in biotechnology and life sciences
- Analyze invention disclosures, experimental results, and scientific data
- Assist with responding to USPTO communications and conducting interviews with USPTO examiners
- Conduct prior art searches and patentability analyses
- Prepare patent claim charts and support due diligence and freedom-to-operate projects
- Collaborate directly with inventors and scientific teams
Required Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- USPTO Registration
- Ph.D. in life sciences or related field such as biology, biomedical sciences, molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, immunology, or other related life sciences field
- 0-3 years of experience in patent prosecution
- Strong ability to analyze and communicate complex biological concepts
