HR Manager

Pay range: $40-50/hour

Contract 2 months

Location: San Francisco, CA

Hybrid - 2 days on-site, 3 days remote


Human Manager will provide comprehensive HR project management and support across areas such as job description analysis, employee records review and other ad-hoc HR initiatives, requiring a self-directed and resourceful approach with a high level of confidentiality and professionalism. This role demands strong knowledge of California and Federal employment laws, as well as HR best practices in a high-volume, regulated, and distributed workforce. The position reports to the Senior Director of Human Resources and collaborates cross-functionally with HR leaders and their teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage key HR projects under the direction of HR Leadership, employee records audit, ensuring compliance with California and Federal labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Conduct employee records audit and collaborate with HR leadership to recommend best practices for managing HR processes across a distributed workforce. Includes, applying expertise in FLSA, Workers’ Compensation codes, and EEOC classifications to maintain consistency and compliance across job descriptions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with HR leadership to create and document Standard Operating Procedures for current HR processes.
  • Complete salary survey requests and compile data to support compensation analysis projects, leveraging strong Excel and analytical skills.
  • Create an annual HR compliance calendar with required state, federal and internal
  • Run ad-hoc reports on HR systems as needed.
  • Research HR topics and synthesize findings into clear, concise format.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (HR

certification highly preferred).

  • 5 years of progressive and relevant HR experience. Work experience in a combination of nonprofit and for profit highly regulated industries a plus.
  • Demonstrated HR project management experience, including leading cross-functional initiatives, process improvement projects, audits, and compliance-related programs.
  • Experience conducting HR, benefits, personnel file, or compliance audits preferred.
  • Strong organizational and project tracking skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
  • Advance in Excel skills for analyzing and synthesizing data, for reporting, data analysis, and strategic planning.
