Director of Logistics

Salary Range: $165,000–$190,000

About the Role
We’re seeking a strategic and hands-on logistics leader to oversee end-to-end supply chain operations, drive efficiency, and lead a high-performing team. As Director of Logistics, you’ll play a critical role in shaping transportation, distribution, and inventory strategies that support business growth and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute logistics strategies aligned with company goals.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve supply chain performance and cost efficiency.
- Build and mentor a team of logistics professionals across transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
Operations Management
- Oversee daily logistics operations including inbound/outbound shipping, inventory control, and vendor management.
- Ensure optimal use of resources, systems, and technologies to streamline processes.
- Monitor KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Technology & Data Insights
- Leverage logistics platforms and analytics tools to drive decision-making.
- Implement systems that enhance visibility, forecasting, and performance tracking.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and international regulations.
- Manage contracts, audits, and risk mitigation strategies across logistics functions.
Vendor & Partner Relations
- Negotiate and manage relationships with carriers, 3PLs, and suppliers.
- Evaluate vendor performance and ensure service-level agreements are met.
Qualifications
- 10 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation management.
- Proven leadership experience in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
- Strong knowledge of logistics systems (e.g., WMS, TMS, ERP).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
