Controller | Bonus

LHH Recruitment Solutions, formerly Parker Lynch, is partnering with a privately held, construction firm seeking a Controller. This position will lead core accounting activities, oversee a small team, and serve as a key financial partner to operational leadership.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader who enjoys connecting financial results to operational performance. The role offers significant exposure to project accounting, WIP reporting, profitability analysis, forecasting, reporting enhancements, and process improvement within a collaborative, operations-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Month-End and Year-End Close
• Financial Reporting and Analysis
• Project Accounting and Job Costing
• WIP Reporting
• Project and Departmental Profitability
• Forecasting and Margin Analysis
• General Ledger Management
• Accounts Payable, Payroll, Billing, and Collections Oversight
• Accounting Process Automation
• Internal Controls and Documentation
• Team Leadership and Development
• Partnership with Operations, Project Teams, and Executive Leadership
• Special Projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 8 years’ progressive accounting experience, ideally within project based accounting
• 2 years’ supervision experience
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively with operational and non-finance stakeholders
• Hands-on approach with a focus on accuracy, urgency, and continuous improvement
• Top end salary requires mix of CPA/CMA and/or public accounting experience auditing construction firms, DOE
