Key Responsibilities
- Prepare initial drafts of loan documents for commercial lending transactions secured by Texas real estate and properties nationwide.
- Review and proof transaction documents to ensure all required exhibits and supporting documentation are complete.
- Manage and maintain closing checklists to ensure timely receipt, review, and completion of all due diligence requirements.
- Review and analyze title commitments, surveys, and related real estate documents.
- Coordinate with title companies, lenders, borrowers, and other transaction parties to facilitate successful closings.
- Maintain accurate timekeeping records to support client billing.
- Organize and maintain electronic matter files in accordance with firm procedures.
- Electronically record documents in public records.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience supporting commercial real estate, commercial lending, banking, escrow, title, or finance transactions.
- Paralegal certification required for candidates seeking consideration as a paralegal.
- Experience supporting commercial real estate attorneys and/or commercial lending transactions.
- Strong understanding of commercial real estate documentation, title review, and closing processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to take projects from inception through closing.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and resolve issues proactively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn new software platforms.
- Professional demeanor with the ability to interact confidently with clients and outside parties.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding client and firm matters.
