Assistant Controller

Overview
We are partnering with a growing, highly respected organization to identify an Assistant Controller to support the accounting and finance function. This role will partner closely with senior leadership and play a key role in financial reporting, process improvement, and team development.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Controller in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, and financial reporting
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Lead or assist with the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Perform account reconciliations and maintain the integrity of the general ledger
- Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and policies
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis initiatives
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, supporting development and performance management
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability
- Partner cross-functionally with operations and leadership to provide financial insights
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 3 years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting or corporate accounting)
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting processes
- Experience with month-end close and general ledger accounting
- Advanced Excel skills required
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- CPA or CPA-track is a plus
