Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Interim Senior Payroll Leader to provide hands-on leadership for a complex, multi-state payroll operation. This individual will oversee payroll processing, ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations, manage payroll staff, and support ongoing process improvements within the payroll function.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee end-to-end payroll operations across multiple states .
• Manage and mentor payroll team members while ensuring payroll accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
• Oversee payroll tax filings, audits, reconciliations, and year-end processes.
• Partner with HR, Finance, and Accounting to resolve payroll issues and improve processes.
• Utilize UKG to maintain efficient payroll operations and reporting.

Requirements

• 7 years of progressive payroll experience with demonstrated leadership responsibilities.
• Extensive experience managing multi-state payroll .
• Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations, filings, and compliance .
• Experience processing high-volume, full-cycle payroll.
• Advanced UKG experience required.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification strongly preferred.
• Experience leading payroll process improvements, system enhancements, or payroll transitions.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.

Pay Details: $140,000.00 to $160,000.00 per year
