Payroll Accountant (Contract-to-Hire, Hybrid - Seattle, WA)Job SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to support accurate and timely payroll processing for a growing organization in Seattle. This is a hybrid, contract-to-hire opportunity offering the chance to transition into a permanent role based on performance and business needs. The Payroll Accountant will work closely with HR and Finance to ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, reconciliations, and reporting.Location & ScheduleHybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)Seattle, WAContract-to-hireCompensation$38-$48 per hour, depending on experienceKey ResponsibilitiesProcess bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll accurately and on timeReview payroll data for accuracy, including wages, deductions, bonuses, and taxesPrepare and post payroll journal entries to the general ledgerReconcile payroll-related accounts, including taxes and benefitsEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulationsCoordinate payroll tax filings, payments, and year-end reporting (W-2s, W-3s)Partner with HR on new hires, terminations, benefits deductions, and PTO trackingResearch and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiriesSupport internal and external audits by providing payroll documentationAssist with process improvements and payroll system enhancementsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred3 years of payroll or payroll accounting experienceStrong understanding of payroll taxes and wage and hour lawsExperience with payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, Paychex, UKG, or similarProficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlinesStrong communication and problem-solving skillsPreferred QualificationsCertified Payroll Professional (CPP) is a plusMulti-state payroll experienceExperience in a fast-paced or high-growth environmentBenefits:LHH Recruitment Solutions benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits, and 401K plan.
