LHH has partnered with a great firm who is looking for a Litigation Assistant to join their team and provide critical support to litigation attorneys and the Litigation Resource Manager. This is a fully onsite position in Newport Beach, CA. The ideal candidate will have Federal litigation experience; IP experience is a plus but not required. Candidates must successfully pass a background check prior to starting.This role is perfect for someone highly organized, detail-oriented, and eager to work in a collaborative environment. Our firm values a positive culture and hosts regular social gatherings.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform general case management for litigation mattersPrepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, and memorandaFile court documents and manage docketing for court and case deadlines using firm softwareAssist attorneys with reviewing, organizing, and summarizing case materialsPrepare matrices, charts, spreadsheets, and privilege logs as neededCreate, revise, and proofread documents with high accuracyAssist with mediation and trial preparationMaintain accurate billable time recordsLearn and utilize firm document management systems, including Microsoft Office and RelativityPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsUndergraduate degree and/or ABA-approved paralegal certificate preferredPrior litigation experience as a legal secretary or junior paralegal preferredFederal court filing experience required; IP experience is a plusStrong desire to work in a team environmentProficient in state and Federal court filings; knowledge of court rules and legal terminologyExcellent written communication, proofreading, and attention to detailAbility to handle multiple tasks and remain calm under pressureHigh degree of initiative, judgment, and time management skillsMust be able to work overtime as neededProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe) and NetDocsCultureGreat firm culture with regular social gatheringsSupportive team environmentAdditional DetailsBackground check required prior to startMust be available to work onsite for the entire assignmentLocation: Onsite in Newport Beach, CANormal business hours, Mon - FriEmployment Type: Contract or Contract-to-HireStart Date: ImmediatePay: $30 - $45 per hour Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits, and 401K plan.
