Location: San Francisco, CA (On-site, 3 days per week)Hours: 25 hours per weekAssignment Length: 6 monthsStart Date: January 5LHH has partnered with our client, a mission-driven nonprofit organization in San Francisco, to identify a highly skilled Program Database Administrator to support a major data migration and system implementation project. This role is ideal for someone with expert-level SQL experience and hands-on exposure to Bonterra/Apricot or similar case management or program databases.This is a part-time, on-site contract opportunity with meaningful impact on program operations, reporting, and service delivery.About the RoleThe Program Database Administrator will oversee program databases, manage data lifecycle processes, support a large-scale migration into Bonterra/Apricot 360, and ensure data integrity, accuracy, security, and compliance. The role includes developing custom reports, supporting quality assurance efforts, training staff, and serving as a key technical resource during the transition from legacy systems.You will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to complete a nearly finished backend implementation and ensure successful adoption by program staff.Key ResponsibilitiesData Migration & System ImplementationMigrate data from legacy SQL Server and Access databases into Bonterra/Apricot 360.Package and extract legacy data using custom SQL queries.Support final cleanup and stabilization of the Bonterra backend (majority of work already completed).Train staff on the new system and support onboarding and deployment.Database Management & Quality AssuranceManage data collection, storage, and reporting processes.Maintain, modify, and support both legacy and new program databases.Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure data integrity, consistency, and security.Ensure adherence to HIPAA standards and organizational data security policies.Reporting & VisualizationDevelop custom reports, dashboards, and data extracts for internal teams and funders.Provide support for grant reporting, compliance monitoring, and data-driven decision-making.Technical Assistance & CollaborationProvide training, troubleshooting, and technical support for staff.Respond to data system inquiries and resolve issues promptly.Collaborate across departments to align data-related goals and practices.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or related field or equivalent experience.Minimum 3 years of experience in database administration, management, or development.Expert-level SQL skills (required).Experience with Bonterra/Apricot strongly preferred; experience with similar nonprofit data systems acceptable.Proficiency with MS SQL Server, MS Access, and custom query development.Experience building reports, dashboards, and data visualizations (Tableau or Power BI preferred).Strong communication and training skills; ability to work independently.Experience working within diverse communities and commitment to equity and inclusion.Work EnvironmentOn-site three days per week (25 hours weekly).Business casual environment; jeans acceptable.Office is accessible via public transit near Market Street; limited street parking available.Interview ProcessOne interview round with a panel including hiring leadership and data systems stakeholders.Quick feedback turnaround expected.Why This OpportunityContribute to a high-impact, mission-aligned nonprofit.Lead a critical data migration that will directly support client services and program delivery.Work with autonomy while partnering closely with leadership to implement best practices and modernize data systems.Pay Details: $44.00 to $60.00 per hourSearch managed by: Eben Mahoney Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
