LHH has partnered with an outstanding nonprofit in Montgomery County, MD to identify a Collections & Accounts Receivable Specialist! This role is responsible for managing the full accounts receivable lifecycle, ensuring timely collections, accurate financial records, and compliance with audit standards. This role supports cash flow optimization, internal controls, and audit readiness while maintaining strong client relationships.Key Responsibilities:Accounts Receivable Management:Generate and distribute client invoices accurately and on time.Monitor outstanding receivables and proactively follow up on overdue accounts.Maintain detailed collection notes and status updates in CRM systems.Prepare and manage AR aging reports and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy.Collections:Implement effective collection strategies to minimize delinquency.Collaborate with Sales and internal teams to resolve billing disputes promptly.Maintain positive client relationships while managing sensitive conversations professionally.Audit & Compliance:Assist with internal and external audit requests, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to company policies.Support month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal control procedures.Reporting & Analysis:Prepare reports on collection performance, AR metrics, and audit findings.Identify trends and recommend process improvements for efficiency and compliance.Qualifications:Education:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.Experience:3-5 years of experience in accounts receivable, collections, or similar accounting role.Hands-on experience with audit processes and internal controls.Skills:Strong knowledge of AR processes, collections practices, and accounting principles.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce).Excellent communication and negotiation skills.High attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insurance.401k retirement account.Pay Details: $26.00 to $32.00 per hourSearch managed by: Desirae Valeri Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
