Loews Coral Gables Hotel features 242 guestrooms, including 23 beautifully designed suites, 30,0000 square feet of indoor/outdoor flexible meeting space, an expansive 9th floor pool deck, four Miami-inspired dining outlets and more. Located just four blocks from the Gables' iconic Miracle Mile, the hotel is the centerpiece of The Plaza Coral Gables, a 2.1 million square foot mixed-use development showcasing retail space, dining and entertainment experiences. Loews Coral Gables Hotel is the second Loews Hotel to open in South Florida, joining 25 other properties across the US and Canada that make up the Loews Hotels & Co portfolio. This position is responsible for sales activities associated with the Room Service operation to include; assisting guest in the selection of menu items; upselling food, beverages, after dinner beverages and desserts; taking and processing orders; maintaining records. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Maintains Room Service tracking and control records and files Stays informed of status of menu item availability Assists guests with selection of food, beverage, wine, dessert and specialty items, Makes knowledgeable recommendations regarding selection of food, beverages, wines desserts and after dinner beverages to ensure guest satisfaction, while attempting to produce maximum revenue form sale Takes and processes room service orders in a timely manner according to Loews standards Completes Room Service paperwork to ensure proper billing of all charges to appropriate guest account Responds to complaints regarding room service orders in appropriate manner according to Loews standards Posts Amenity charges to guest accounts Distribute amenities to server by confirming guest room number of guest Dispatch bussers/ server to handle guest requests Call back guest to confirm guest satisfaction with food quality and service Other duties as assigned Supportive Functions and Responsibilities Promotes and applies teamwork skill at all times Notifies appropriate individual promptly and fully of all problems and/or unusual matters of significance Is polite, friendly, and helpful to all guests, management and fellow employees Attends all appropriate hotel meetings and training sessions Maintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work area Executes emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standards Complies with required safety regulations and procedures Complies with hotel standards, policies and rules Recycles whenever possible Remains current with hotel information and changes Complies with hotel uniform and grooming standards Qualifications Knowledge of food and beverage terminology, ability to learn upselling and order taking procedures Exceptional guest service and telephone skills Computer skills, ability to operate basic office equipment Effective organizational and communications skills Ability to work flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Headquartered in New York City, Loews Hotels & Co is rooted in deep heritage in the hotel industry and excellence in service.
