The Key Account Manager (KAM) will drive growth and customer satisfaction in analytical instrumentation, focusing on mass spectrometry. This role requires a strategic, technical individual to nurture key accounts and develop new opportunities

  • Manage relationships with key accounts in the analytical instrumentation market, focusing on mass spectrometry OEMs and users.
  • Develop strategic account plans for customer satisfaction and revenue growth.
  • Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and through new manufacturers and users.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across time zones (EMEA, APAC, Americas) for seamless communication and project execution.
  • Navigate cultural nuances, align global strategies, and deliver tailored solutions for customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, understanding customer vacuum technology needs.
  • Coordinate internal resources to deliver optimal solutions and service.
  • Regularly visit customer sites to understand applications and provide support.
  • Track account activity and market trends using CRM tools.
  • Monitor competition and market trends to effectively position Leybold’s products.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to tailor solutions in mass spectrometry.
  • Support marketing efforts with market feedback and promotional contributions.
  • Attend trade shows and industry events to network and stay updated.
  • Achieve revenue targets and business objectives.

Education level

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, chemistry, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred

Relevant Previous Experience

  • 5 years of experience in business development, technical sales, or account management; preferably working with or selling to OEMs in the analytical instrumentation sector
  • Prior experience with high vacuum technology equipment

Preferred Attributes

  • Strong understanding of the analytical instrumentation market, specifically mass spectrometry
  • Proven ability to manage long sales cycles and build trust in complex, technical environment
  • Skilled in coordinating with stakeholders in various time zones (EMEA, APAC, Americas), ensuring seamless communication, timely project execution, and consistent revenue growth
  • Adept at navigating cultural nuances, aligning global account strategies, and delivering tailored solutions that drive customer satisfaction and long-term loyalty
  • Experience in a highly technical B2B sales environment
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and strategic thinking skills

Job location

This position requires very frequent travel, 50% of the position, often overnight or multiple days. Domestic and International.   

This role is fully remote, enabling you to work from anywhere in the world. We value results over location and provide the tools and support you need to succeed from any location
