This remote role involves frequent travel—about 50%—including overnight and multi-day domestic and international trips. The employee may be exposed to mechanical parts, outdoor conditions, fumes, and occasional risks like electrical shock, vibration, and loud noise.
Physical requirements include regular sitting, standing, walking, stair climbing, and verbal communication. Occasional tasks include typing, dialing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching. Lifting up to 20 pounds may be required. Frequent computer use and visual acuity—including close, color, distance, depth perception, and focus adjustment—are essential.

Main Responsibilities
- Split time evenly between the home office and on-site visits to some of the world’s most advanced factories, educating engineers and management teams on vacuum technology—a technically complex and impactful subject.
- Promote Leybold products by designing and proposing equipment upgrade solutions to an assigned account base within a geographic region. Focus areas include industrial markets such as metallurgy and materials, architectural glass, energy and energy physics, food production, space and rocket manufacturing, aerospace, automotive and electric vehicles, freeze-drying, silicon carbide, high-tech ceramics, and more.
- Develop and execute a strategic vision to grow business within the region, targeting both existing clients and new opportunities for Leybold products and services.
- Deliver exceptional customer experiences through expert technical support and product selection guidance.
- Represent Leybold at trade shows, seminars, and training sessions to stay informed on industry trends, competitive offerings, and value-added services.
- Maintain company property—including vehicle, computer, office equipment, demo/loaner products, and consignment stock—both personally and at customer sites.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Quick learner with the ability to think creatively and solve problems outside conventional approaches.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science, or equivalent technical experience in an engineering-related role.
- Military veterans are encouraged to apply—Navy Nuclear (Nuke) experience is especially valued.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently from a home office environment.
- Familiarity with mechanical, vacuum, and fluid systems is a strong plus.
- Willingness to travel regionally up to 50% of the time.
- Strong proficiency in PC applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Valid driver’s license required.
