What are the responsibilities and job description for the Football Defensive Coordinator position at Lexington Senior High School?
The High School Defensive Coordinator is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the defensive side of the football program. This position plays a vital role in developing student-athletes both on and off the field by fostering discipline, accountability, leadership and teamwork. The Defensive Coordinator works closely with the Head Coach and coaching staff to build a competitive, well prepared, and fundamentally sound defense that reflects the values and standards of Lexington Senior High School.
Qualifications
- Previous high school or collegiate football coaching experience. Defense preferred.
- Strong Knowledge of defensive schemes, coverages, and front alignments.
- Ability to teach and communicate effectively with student-athletes.
- Demonstrate leadership skills and ability to build positive relationships.
- Commitment to developing student-athletes academically, athletically and socially
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, administration, parents, and community stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior Defensive Coordinator or Head Coaching Experience
- Experience using film breakdown and scouting software (Hudl)
- Teaching license or eligibility for employment with the school district.
