Job Description:
The Certified Dietary Manager is responsible for the dietary needs of the patients in the hospital and the overall dietary program. This position requires a strong understanding of food allergies and food restrictions to provide a safe and nutritious diet for all patients. The Certified Dietary Manager will also assist in developing and implementing a food service program that meets the nutritional needs of our patients.
Essential Functions:
·Provide nutritional support to our patients.
·Develop and implement a food service program that meets the nutritional needs of our patients.
·Monitor patient compliance with their nutritional restrictions.
·Respond to patient requests for food services.
·Respond to questions regarding food service programs.
·Maintain accurate records of patient nutritional needs, restrictions, and compliance.
·Maintain good communication with other healthcare professionals as well as the nursing staff regarding patient nutritional needs and restrictions.
·Work with the dietitian to monitor patient nutritional levels and restrictions.
·Maintain a clean work environment at all times.
·Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Experience:
·2 years’ experience in a long-term care setting providing dietary services or dietary management preferred.
· Certified Dietary Manager preferred.
·Demonstrated knowledge of nutrition and food safety principles, policies, procedures, standards, etc., and able to provide information to patients and their families on food choices, benefits, and restrictions is preferred.
·Experience with electronic health records preferred.
